Himalayan Tartary Buckwheat and the Discovery of 2-HOBA

A small farmer in the Appalachian foothills of Western New York by the name of Sam Beer is bringing back an ancient plant – Himalayan Tartary Buckwheat. 

While this plant has been around for centuries, due to its low-yielding crops and intensive harvesting it began to disappear after World War II.  Sam Beer has been diligently working to bring this crop back to the forefront as new research has found that a powerful phytonutrient found in buckwheat, 2-HOBA, shows promising health benefits.
